1885. Jane arrives in Russia from America to assist Douglas McCracken, who has invented a steam-driven timber harvester named "The Barber of Siberia", in finding money for finishing his work. But an accidental meeting with Andrey Tolstoy, a cadet at Emperor School, becomes a sign of destiny. Having fallen in love with Jane, Andrey dares to stand in the way of his commander, General Radlov. The young man is exiled to Siberia on false charges of political crime. Housemaid Dunyasha follows him there.
Twenty years later Jane will tell this story to her son, who looks very much like his remaining in Siberia father.

The film "The Barber of Siberia" was awarded Grand Prix at the International Film Festival "Zolotoy Vityaz".
