I just found this website. Nice site! I live in Massachusetts. I have been a big fan of Oleg Menshikov's since I first saw him in Burnt by the Sun. He has such a haunted air about him in all of his movies. I also particularly liked Prisoner of the Mountains and East-West. Oleg is an actor's actor. It is a bit discouraging to live in this country and have to be subjected to most of the garbage that Hollywood puts out. It is refreshing to watch an actor who is so good at his craft, rather than watching a "movie star" play the same role over and over again. Thanks for a good English site! If only Oleg could find a good part to play in an indie film here. Life would be even better! Indie and foreign films are about all I watch. So to Oleg - please keep making great movies! I always look forward to a new film from you. You are a rarity in the movie world. Peace to all!

I had never heard of Oleg Menshikov before but I made it my project to look on the Internet and I was surprised to find a site on this famous Russian actor. I saw Prisoner of the Mountains in a Film Class that I am taking in college and I loved this story. I especially am a big fan of Oleg Menshikov. I think he did a superb job acting this movie. Thankfully it was so different than that of an American movie. This story told an account of a very real war that has persisted for 150 years or so. There were no Arnold Schwarznegger's in this movie to help out Vanya or Sacha. No big guns, or explosions like American films have but just a real true story that needs to stay alive for people to know that this war has not ended yet. Thank you Sergei Bodrov for telling this story your way and my heart goes out to you for the lose of your son, Sergei Bodrov, Jr.

I have been fortunate enough to see Prime Suspect 6 thanks to the courtesy of Juliet. I loved the movie. I think Oleg steals the scenes from practically everyone. He is so natural in his acting style. It is almost like he is drinking a glass of water; his acting is so smooth and effortless. I think Oleg has such a great personality that he leaves a big imprint in everyone's heart. After seeing him you can never be the same!

Hello everyone! You might call me a new fan of Mr. Menshikov, as I have seen only 2 movies in which he has starred: East-West and The Barber of Siberia, however, it is amazing how his personality and great acting shine through, even if both English and French are not his native tongues. Unfortunately, I don't live in Russia, and hence do not speak the language, but I can only begin to imagine how his performances must be a treat to the senses. I do hope that whoever is doing the English part of this site will catch up with the translation, as my knowledge of Cyrillic is quite limited. I have become a huge Oleg fan ever since watching 'The Barber of Siberia'. I cannot express enough how much I was moved by it. I thought Oleg was just the most attractive and captivating man I had seen.
