Longines and elegance - loving partners for 170 years

Paris (France), March 7, 2002. Exactly 170 years ago this year, young Auguste Agassiz became the owner of a modest watch-parts workshop in the small, Swiss Jura mountain village of Saint-Imier. Exactly 170 years ago, Longines' "Elegance in Time Since 1832" baseline first stirred to life. Today, over 30 million watches later, Longines can look back on the first 17 decades of a highly successful partnership with elegance. And look forward to more, much more, of the same - starting with a memorable celebration in the all-time capital of love and elegance... Paris !
The event took place at the Pavillon Ledoyen located at the famous Champs Elysee. At the same occasion Longines presents its ambassadors of elegance: Italian actress Chiara Muti, Indian actress Aishwarya Rai, Chinese actress Carina Lau, American actor Billy Zane and Russian actor Oleg Menshikov.
